Yes! Las Peñitas is a fantastic place to learn. The beach has a sandy bottom and long, gentle “whitewash” waves that are perfect for finding your balance.
Safety is our #1 priority. While you don’t need to be an Olympic swimmer, you should be comfortable in the water. For beginners, we stay in waist-deep water so you can always touch the bottom!
Just your swimwear, a high-SPF (reef-safe) sunscreen, a towel, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. We provide the rest!
Everyone is different, but most of our students are standing up and riding their first waves by the end of their very first lesson. It’s all about the “pop-up” technique we practice on the sand first!
Not at all! The Pacific waters in Nicaragua are warm year-round (usually around 27°C – 29°C). You’ll only need a rash guard (which we provide) to protect against sun and board rub.
We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance, especially during the high season (December–April), to ensure we have an instructor and the right-sized board ready for you.
Las Peñitas is generally safe, but like any ocean, there can be currents. Our instructors are locals who know these waters inside and out; they’ll guide you to the safest spots and teach you how to read the ocean.
