The standard tour consists of six interactive stations and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete from start to finish. The drive from Leon to Chichigalpa will take about 45 minutes.
You will walk through the history of the brand, starting at “La Locomotora” to see the original 1890 engine, followed by a film at “Cine Adela.” You’ll also visit the barrel-making area, the “Slow-Aged” cellars, and the Family Reserve where the finest rums are kept.
Yes. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste and sample the rum at different stages of its aging process, learning how to identify the specific aromas and flavors of their award-winning reserves.
Absolutely. The final stop of the tour is the Museum and Boutique, located inside the world’s largest rum barrel. Here you can buy the full collection of Flor de Caña rums, including exclusive editions, as well as branded merchandise like apparel and accessories.
You must bring your physical passport because the Flor de Caña distillery requires a valid, government-issued photo ID to grant entry to the facility. Since the tour involves alcohol consumption, the staff needs to verify that all participants meet the legal drinking age in Nicaragua. Please note that a digital photo or a photocopy is often not accepted by their security team, so having your original document is essential to avoid being denied entry.
