History
The San Juan River, once imagined as a canal route linking oceans, flows from Lake Nicaragua to the Caribbean Sea. Alongside it lies Indio Maíz, a vast, untouched rainforest filled with jaguars, howler monkeys, and plants known to the Rama and Kriol peoples. Pirates once navigated its waters; now scientists and conservationists explore its wonders. It’s a place where history, legend, and biodiversity come togethera living reminder of the power and beauty of nature when left wild and free.
